Kills, the well-known concrete contractor, has organized a company for the purpose of bidding on street Improvement work In Kugene. This company has obtained the right to use an asphalt top similar to the ones approved by the street committee of the council, and now being laid In the city. Mr. Kills has submitted several bids to the council for proposed paving work. The company Is composed of re sponsible business men of this city, some of wtjom have been engaged in construction work in Kugene for the past eight or nine years, and as far as Is possible they employ local labor to help them In their work. The company Is In a position to handle all kinds of public improvement work and get it completed in the time specified In their contracts. The wool clip this season promises to be heavy and an enormous amount will be ready for shipment before long, as l hi' various Docks throimhout the county are being shorn (tiite rapidly. The local team tied the score in the ninth Inning, the score up to that Inning standing 1 to U, in favor of Washington. With two outs and two strikes called, "Home Hun" Baker hit the ball over the fence, tying the score. In the next inning Philadelphia got the odd run and won the game.
