The board adopted the following
resolution in order to clear the at
mosphere regarding the proposed
Initiative mi Huge bill, and pending
suit in court to set aside the refer
endum on the university appropria
tions: "Whereas, the proposed inllluge
tax bill for the support of the uni
versity and tho Agricultural College
contains a provision expressly repeal
ing the two acts of the Legislature
of lull, appropriating money for the
support' of the university.
' 'Therefore, Bo It Resolved, That
this board hereby declare that If the
preseut suit now pending should be
decided favorably to tho university,
no part of the appropriation above re
ferred to will be expended or author-!
ized to be expended until the matter
of the millage tax is passed upon by
the people, If the same shall be sub
mitted to them. And, If approved,
no part of such appropriation will
be expended."

a strand of copper wire. It on g lily,
but. legibly, chiseled into the lace of
the tag was the announcement of the
Pole's discovery on July I, 1!H)H.
For nearly six years Thomas kept
