James K. Qodfrey of Marlon County Is the tenth member of the delegation from Oregon to Democratic national con venllon at llaltlmore. Godfrey's elec tion over John Htevenon and A. A. Kadderly of Multnomah, who have been running a neck and neck race, ha been assured by official returns on tha Democratic vote from Marlon coi.m. Democrats of bis home county gavs Godfrey 302 votes to 21 for Htevenson and 12 for Kadderly. This, with flva more votes for Godfrey In Harney county, which had not ire -lously reported, brought his total up to 781. Stevenson has 633 and Ka-1-dsrly 624, before the Marion and Harney rs turns came In, Stevenson and (Sodfr-y were virtually tied for tenth pla., Stevenson having 607 votes to tins for Kadderly. Godfrey was thir teenth man with only 482 votes. As predicted In The Journal yesterday, however, Godfrey won out In the fin al count, as It was considered cer tain that his home county would go heavily In bis favor. Though the contest was for the tenth and last place on the delega tion, Godfrey's showing In Marlon really puts him In eighth place, and shoves Daniel W. Hheahan of Wal lowa down to ninth, with 710 votes, and Colonel Frederick V. Holinan of Multnomah Into tenth position, with CM votes. This Is a lead of only 01 votes over Htevenson, but as only one small county. Lake, has uot sent In complete returns, and all the other figures are official except In Multno mah, there Is no probability that Stevenson will gain enough to win The other seven Democratic dele- Kates In addition to those named are: A. E. & E. will be extended to Albany on this side of the river, and will be continued to Salem on this side of the Willamette, crossing at Salem and connecting with the city ystem Just purchased there.
