Dis tention among persons interested la I the various alleged projects led jr-M terday to the appointment by Judgi Gatens of John C. Jenkins as receiver of the Pacific Western Company, the Grants Pass & Rogue River Railroad Company, the Land Company if Rogue River and the Rogue River Townslte Company. The actios was taken on motion of H. L, Chapln, ono of the promoters of the railway and land companies, who also Bled suit to recover on notes aggregating 111,- 000. The Grants Pass ft Rogue River Railroad Company was organised for the purpose of building a rallroid southwesterly from Grants Pass a distance of 30 miles. Less than a mile has been completed Mr. Chapln declares In his complaint, and the company Is in debt 142,000 for ma terials, and is Insolvent, he further declares. . The Land Company of Rogue River owns 142 acres which were platted as a townslte and named South Grants Pass. Mr. Chapln charges that this company Is Indebted to the Grants Psbs Hanking ft Trust Com pany in the sum of flo.OOO, and It unable to pay. The Rosue River Townslte Com pany holds several townsites and purchased 7000 acres along the right of way of the railway. This company is asserted to be deeply in dent to those from whom the land was pur chased and unable to discharge Us liabilities.
