Tho difference In weight of the opposing teams made the game exceedingly rough, but It whs hard fought throughout and every basket was well earned.. During the first l." minutes of the game the crack high school team seem doomed to lis Initial defeat. The score was evened up then, how ever, mid the end of the first halt saw tiie scholars three points In the lead, the score being 16 to 13. They letalned the lead during the balance of the game. lllakely, the high school's fast for ward, was, as iisunl, the star playur of his team. He seemed to he every place on the floor Just at the time when needed. During the first half he had the misfortune of being knocked out by a severe blow on the right kidney when an opposing guard fell on him. All of the high school players. In fact, are worthy of men tion as the high school has this year one of the fastest basketball teams in Its history. Hlakely threw five field baskets and one foul for the high school: Itlnck threw four Held baskets and three fouls, and Jewe't four field baskets. The high school line-up was: lllakely and llluck. for wards; Jewett, center; Hammond and Riebel, guards. The picked team was composed of players who have won special merit while members of former Koseburx teams, but because of the lack of re cent training and of necessary tenru work they were unable to hold the high school down. This team v;e composed of Fisher and Thornton, forwards; Henderson, center: Frencn and Pickens, guards. Thornton threw four Meld baskets and five fouls. Fisher three held baskets, and Henderson one foul. The high school hoys have labore-l hard to give their basketball team Its present high quality and their games are worthy of a much larger attend ance than has been accorded them in the past.
