Mrs. L. K. Mustier, of, Portland. Is her sister. Her grand daughters are Mrs. Frank Gilchrist Owen. Miss Eugenia Shelby, of Neva da; Mrs. Frank Shuda and Mrs. E. 1 Wallace Osborne, of San Francisco. Hosford, 91 vents old. pioneer Methodist preacher of 184.1, survivor of the First Metho dist Conference of Oregon, who preached a sermon in Portland when it was a hamlet of only 14 log cabins, died In Portland Wednesday. John Flliin were the last members of the pioneer Methodist ministers who came to Oregon In the Mils, established mis sions and laid the foundation of the Willamette I'niversity. John Kent and wife, of Elkton, came up Saturday for a week end visit with relatives here. AI. Kent, of Elkton, was In this neighborhood the latter part of the week with a view to buying some cattle to put on his range. Several of our citizens went to Oakland Sunday morning to attend the funeral of Hon. D. W. Stearns. among them being Benton Mires. W. W. Kent and wife, Mrs. Orange Mat toon, and John Kent, of Elkton. Attorney and Mrs. C. W. Devore and family came up from Estacada on Friday to be present at the mar riage of Mr. Devore's sister. Miss Ena Devore, which took place on Sunday. The wedding of Mr. R. II. Rams- dell, of Marysville. Cal., to Miss Ena Devore. the youngest daughter of Dr. and Mrs. C. P. Devore, of this city, took place at the home of the bride's parents on Sunday. Oct. 29. at 1 o' clock p. m., Rev. Ernest M. Smith, pastor of the Drain M. E. Church, officiating. The groom Is a young business man of Marysville, for which place the happy couple departed on the afternoon train. The bride Is a graduate of the normal school at this place three years ago, and has been successful teacher in the schools in this part of the county since that time. J. R. Richardson, of Oakland, a former resident of Drain, came over and spent Sunday with Drain friends. We are Informed that about fifty tons of dried prunes will be shipped from this place this fall, the bulk of which has come from the vicinity of Elkton. The price received will aver age above seven cents tier pound. Mrs. Robert Jerauld and bnhy came down from Riddle Saturday afternoon for a few days' visit with her parents, Mr. and MrB. N. D. Cool.
