The first hour was devoted to a business and devotional meet ing, led by Rev. C. H. McKee, of Mc Mlnnville. after which there was a short musical program which was very much enjoyed. Following this--the crowd enjoyed an hour of social fun and were then Invited to the basement, where a tasteful supper had been prepared. The basement was beautifully decorated with autumn leaves and Jack o" lanterns and lighted with goblin lights. The supper at each plate was done up to represent a pumpkin. McAachem Company, which has the contract for the erection of the bridges on the line of the Oregon Electric Railway Company from Salem to Kugene, was in town yes terday looking after the securing of piling for-the bridges. Mr. Clark said that the company Is ready to begin work and will start the con struction of bridges over the Kantian) 'north of Albany, and over the Wil lamette at llaiTlshiirg this week. He savs they will push the work to com pletion, and while he Is unable to sav how soon I he work on the grad ing will be completed, as that is not in his line, he knows that will also be pushed rapidly and finished at the earliest possible moment. 217 S.
