two or three of the property-holders
who have been holding back from of
fering their land for part of the
right of way to the Oregon hlectrlc,
have reached an amicable adjustment
with the railroad, It Is now aare to
assert that within two weeks at the
latest large gangs of men will be
placed at work south of Snlum be
tween here and Albany and construc
tion work on the extension will be
pushed with the greutest possible,
vigor.
Within the next two days formali
ties on Irrge pieces of right of way
will be completed. In several In
stances the whole difficulties have
been patched and all that Is required
now is the formality of a deed.
There are still one or two citizens
of Baloni who aro holding out, but it
Is believed that uu adjustment will be
reached with them In a short time.
If not, court proceedings will be
rushed through at the earliest possi
ble moment, to reach a legal adjust
ment. At any rate It Is Bure that con
struction work will be started south
of Hulem In the reasonably noar fu
luro and when It Is started oue of
the quickest pieces of ruilroad build
ing ever witnessed In Oregun will be
started. It Is expected to complete
