In order to expedite the payment of these men, Supervisor Itartrum re quested that a disbursing agent be sent here. VV. H. Messing, distribut ing agent, located at Portland, ar rived in Roseburg Sunday morning and checks aggregating between 000 and $3,000 were issued to the various Ure lighters. Since the banks are closed Sunday, Supervisor Hnr trum made arrangements whereby these checks could be cashed imme diately after they were issued. I K, L.
