BERLIN, July 27. Bitter Indigna

Asqulth Intimated that England
might Interfere in Germany and
France's Moroccan matters. It Is
generally admitted that if Germany
maintains her present attitude hos

expected as soon as the Kaiser re
turns to Berlin from his cruise. The
German press today warns England
to keep her hands off the Moroccan
situation, asserting that it Is a mat

DOUGLAS COUNTY FlItKS j
BEING PROMPTLY FOUGHT.
This morning Supervisor S. ('. Bur-
truin received two or three reports
from his rangers to the effect that
the electric storm of last Monday
uight had set out a mini her of fires
in various parts of the Umpqua Na
tional rorest: some located on the
South Umpqua, some on the East
UiuiKiua and one on the North I inp-
qua Kiver. Mr. Uartrum dispatched
20 meu from Canyonvllle ana nner
to care for the South Umpqua fires
and ten men left Rosehurg at 4 o'
clock for the Kast Umpqua lire; while
another crew of men was sent from
Hoaglln to the North Umpqua fire.
Mr. Bartruin states that while
these fires are small at the present
time, the large number of them
scattered In different isolated sec
tions of the 'forest, requires quite a
force to suppress them. Mr. Bartrum
feels confident that their suppression
will be effected before any serious
damige Is done. Deputy Supervisor
E. H. MeDantels and Assistant oresi
Ranger Asher Ireland left at 2:30 III
Mel Thomnson's automobile for Can
