About four years ago he was thrown out of a wagon during a runaway on Mill street, in this city. and sustained au Injury to his head thut necessitated bis commitment to the state asylum for the insane. Hosebnj'g's shortage of water for domestic uud Irrigation purposes ?s due solely to the inability of the facilities of the water company to meet the unusually heavy consump tion occtisfoned by the hot spell. This was the explanation given by an employe of the company this morning. A break in the main on Winchester street. .North Hoscburg, Monday, con tributed materially to the shortage. The two big reservoirs In North Koseburg are kept constantly filled with water for lire fighting purposes only, while the water for all other purposes is being supplied to the city from the .South I nipqua reservoirs. The water from the latter is from the North I'mpfiua lliver. It was at first supposed that this water was from the South rmpqua, a supposi tion that proved to be erroneous. Dr. t.eo. K. Houck. city health ofllcer, reported to the council Monday night that the South Koseburg reservoirs were being supplied only with North rinprjuu water and that they had been sealed against the admission nf water from ttie South tTii!pfiia.
