a special competitive shoot lasting
two duys, (elections of the 15 rifle
men, who will represent the Oregon
National Uuard tn the National rifle
matches next month, were made on
Wednesday by Adjutant-General Kln
zer. Twenty-four marksmen, the pick
of the entire National Oaurd, tried
out for place on the National team.
Under the direction of Major Creed
C. Hammond, state Inspector of
small arms practice, the crack shots
went over the range course three
times. The 15 men selected, all but
one of them enlisted men, are: First
Lieutenant Urover Todd, Woodburn;

will reassemble August 1 for a couple
of weeks preliminary practice at the
Clackamas Stutlon rifle range before
starting Cast. The National niatch'-'S
are to be held at Camp Perry, Ohio,
on the south shore of Lake Erie,
and teams will compete representing
every branch of the regular service
and every state in the Union.
