Utah, May 14. Official announcement was made today by the Council of Twelve of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints that former Apostle Matthias F. Cowley had been deprived of the I right and authority to exercise any of the functions of the priesthood, I for insubordination to the govern 1 ment and discipline of the Church. I Mr. Cowley has dropped from the ' quorum of Apostles several years ago, I being charged with polygamy. At ' the same time Apostle John W. Tay lor was dropped for a similar reason. I but was not deprived of his priest ! hood until last month. .
