U I Anderson's death near Kdenbower last Sunday morning, today gave offi cial discredit to tbe rumors of foul play by filing the following verdict: Coroner's Jury crilirt. We. the jury duly Hummoned. em ! panelled and sworn, by the Coroner of Douglas County, Oregon, for the purpose of Inquiring into the manner j and means of the death of a person : alleged to have been killed on the ! railroad track about u mile northerly of the town of Itosehurg. DougUta county, Oregon, in this our verdict hud : That the name of the person killed Is Charles Anderson. That he was of the age of about 37 years. That he was an employee of the Kdenbower Land & Orchard Co. .and his place of emplovment was some three mile north of Roseburg. That when killed he was going from Roseburg to the place of his employment. That he died from the effects of wounds upon his head. That from the Inspection of the body, aud from the testimony of the examining surgeon, and from the surrounding circumstances, and the testimony of the witnesses, we And that there was no crime commit ted by any personal! the dealh of the said Charles Anderson, and that he met his death by being struck by an engine on train No. 17, on .March 5. 1911. Resolutions demanding that the two Illinois Senators at once re sign their seats were adopted by a unanimous vote. Rev. Milton B. Williams, pastor of the First Methodrst Church of Elgin, threw a bomb of sensation Into the meeting when he charged that he knew from a reliable source that $1125,00(1 had been expended for the retention of Senator Lorimer in the Senate; that Standard Oil and other big Interests had furnished the money, and that one United States Senator, a leader In the light for Lorimer. had received of this sum $100,000.
