PORTLAND. Or., Nov. 24. More

oeretarv Chapman, of the Oregon
Development League, Is determined
this subject shall receive attention
at the coming league convention in
' cilem, Nov. 28. 29 and 30. Its
discussion will be an Important fea
ture of the third day's session.
Judge ChnrleB H. Carey Is hooked
for an address on the new Informa
tion division of the Bureau of Im
migration nt Washington, and he will
outline a plan wherebv the different
commercial clubs of the state may
secure desirable settlers from Ihc
flood of foreign lmmtgrnnts who
come to this country every year from
abroad, through the agency of Imml
rrntlon agents appointed by the
state.
Obviously. Oregon does not seek
foreigners of all classes to populate
Its vacant lnnds. But among the ar
rivals there Is a fnlr proportion of
those who are able and willing to
purchase or rent fnrms and who
would be glad to come to Oregon
for that nurnnse If they knew of the
prent opportunities here for such
settlers.
Colonies of Industrious foreigners
. have been located In varlouB parts
f of Oregon with splendid results.
Bouttiern Oregon has a nohemlan col
ony that Is giving a good account
of IfRolf. Washington county has a
settlement of Hollanders, whose
farms are among the best in the
state. Thrifty . farmers of this sort
are. a big asset to Oregon and their
additions to the state's wealth each
year add to the general prosperity.
More producers like them are very
desirable.
i "I want to see Oregon take Rteps
to get Its share of this Immigration
and to furnish the Information Bu
reau at Washington with full data
respecting our state." snld Judge
' Carey In discussing the subject. "I
shall endeavor to point out the way
In which this can be done without in
volving the stnte in expense, niul I
believe that bv utilizing ttiln means
we shall be abls to gut thrifty nml
Industrious people here In districts
that need colonisation and settle
ment. ' '
"A matters stand, the great ma
jority of immigrants remain in or

to overcrowd the big city and 11b

SKIN DISEASE?
HUMORS IN THE BLOOD
Nature lias made .ample provision
in the moisture and sunshine of the
air for the outward protection ana
healthy condition of the skin. But
the more important work of nourish
ing the cuticle lias been left to an in
ward source the bloid. It is from
the Circulation that the pores and
glands receive their biimulus, and
the fibrous tissues are all preserved
in a healthful state tiecanse of con
stant nutriment supplied by the blood.
It is only when the circulation be
comes infected with liumore or acids
that we are troubled with akin affec
tions. The humors producing these
trouoles are carrieil through the cir
culation direct to the skin, and their
irritating or inflammatory effect re
mains until ttie blood is cleansed.
S. S. S. cures Skin Diseases, because
it is the greatest of all blood purifiers.
