Kvery one of these gen tlenient is deserving of the thanks of the entire community for their man ifest public spirit. . Mr. .Louis HJmes. gave the exhibit more time and at tention than any one person, and it is largely due to him that It was se cured. The apples were packed un der the supervision of Mr. McKeany by an expert packer in the Producers' Frit it. company's packing house. They will be pointed to with pride by lloseburg's friends at the Land Show. I larding Land Company will also have an exhibit at this show, and are spending in the neighborhood of $1000 in preparing exhibits for Port land, Omaha, Minneapolis, Chicago and other places.. In doing this they are not merely advertising their lands but. the lands of the entire valley as well, adding dollars hi value to the lands of Douglas county as well as assisting materially in creating a market for I'mpqua Valley fruit. This company, together with Himes and Oliver, is advertising Roseburg, the rmpMiia valley and Douglas county, and the burden and expense Is being borne by them, although the good di verts to every property holder in the entire county.. These men should be congratulated on their enterprise and unselfishness. Other Cities Forging Aheud. The County Court of Klamath county assigned $."i00 to the secretary of the Klamath Falls Commercial club to be used by him in going east and advertising the resources and attrac tions of the Klamath country. The Hood River Commercial club, assisted by the Fruit Growers' Union, has sent the club secretary, .1. C. Skin ner, to Minneapolis, Omaha. Chica go.
