At Boise, Idaho, Sept. 23, 1910, Allene, Infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Agee, aged about six months. The baby's death was due to spinal meningitis, the disease that has ended the lives of two other children of Mr. and Mrs. Agee. Besides the parents, there survives the Infant a brother and a sister. Mrs. Agee Is a sister of County Clerk E. H. Lenox, who received a letter announcing the child's demiso. Mr. and. Mrs. Agee have been living In Boise the past two weeks. F. Hodge. Mrs. Swantle Peterson and little son went to Medford today to visit with her sister, Mrs. R. S. Barker. Mrs. R. B. Fisher and little son left this morning for Salem and Portland. F. Barnard, who has been operat ing a cleaning and pressing estab lishment near the depot, has disposed of his business and gone to Portland with his family. The new proprietor Is Robt. Taylor, who will also con tinue to conduct his parlors opposite the Commercial Club. To a perplexed public and an ad miring constituency Councilman J. W. Mullen explains tho nature of a "snubbing" post, the establishment of two of which he asked for at tho meeting of the city council last Mon day night. Roughly speaking, the device is a sort of windlass, with a strong rope or cable attached, for the convenience ot persons driving horses down or up a grade ahead of a heavy load. Attaching one end of the rope or cable to the rear or front of the wagon, the windlass Is then operated slowly to either aid the horses In drawing the load or holding it back, as the case may require. Mr. Mullen Is chairman of the com mittee named to take charge of this matter. He wants a windlass em placed at the Deer Creek hill and another near the Hotel McClallen. There are grades at both places, and persons who drive heavily loaded wagons over them would welcome the fulfillment of Mr. Mullen's project. o , Don't Break Down.
