and Representatives in the state elec
tion yesterday glvi the Democrats
substantial majorities In both the
branches of the Maine legislature
which, at the beginning of the new
year, will elect a United States Sena
tor to succeed Eugene Hale, a Secre
tary of State. Stale Treasurer, an
Attorney-General and a Commission
er of Agriculture.
The new legislature also probably
wlli be called on to carry out the
declarations of the Democratic party
platform of recent years and re-submit
to the people the liquor prohibi
tory amendment to the constitution
and to repeal the Sturgis liquor law
enforcement act.

the bridal couple stood under an

the ceremony the wedding breakfast
was served, shortly after which the
bridal couple departed for Salem on
the morning train.
