Supplement to EVENING' ROSEBORC REVIEW MAY 17, 1910. WILBUR MAN'S SUCCESS AS ANGORA GOAT RAlKE:t. The latent Issue of the Pacific Northwest domains the following: The Northwest Angora Goat Asso ciation. Dear Sirs: You wished me to say a few words in regard to the raising of goats. I have 240 head at the present time. Some are regis tered, and I have been In the busi ness for about 10 years. In all that time 1 have never had the foot-rot among the flock and I think the reason is because the animals have high ground to run on. Do not think low, wet ground Is good for them. My goats have kids every year and allow them to come to the barn at any time, and do not feed scarcely anything, as there Is good range for them to browse on. The kids are kept enclosed in a lot and the nan nies come to them every evening where they remain over night and in the morning are turned out. in this way I do not lose nnv kids, O. W. SHOUT. Wilbur, Douglas Co., Ore. mer cashier of the German National Bank, was the first called. Vilsack's attorney, ex-Governor William A. Stone, made a motion for an order to appeal any sentence that might be forthcoming. Judge Fraser im posed a sentence of eight monthB in the county jail and a tine of $5000. YARD, Portland Journal: As was pre dicted in the columns of this paper many weeks ago, when asphalt pave ment was cut by the local monopoly to ns low as $1.44 a square yard, for pavement laid on a four-inch base, in order to drive out a competing company, the price has risen agaln 1-1 nt yesterday afternoon's meeting a square yard were received on numlier of streets. ' This Is an In crease of 27 cents over the low record of $1.58 for asphalt laid on a five- inch base. It is strongly expected that the executive board will reject all the bids for asphalt at $1.85. An in crease in price of from 25 to 31 cents a square yard In less than two months is so large, it is said, that it is hardly possible that the city administration could countenance it. The board awarded an extensive paving Improvement contract in the Brooklyn section of the city. Mil waukie and other streets there will be surfaced with Hassam at a cost of $90,000.
