Mr. O'Brien recently returned from a six weeks tour in the east and reports about Ave times as many inquiries from homeseekers and investors about the Pacific Northwest as there are about Cali fornia. He anticipates a large Immi gration to Oregon this year. C. W. Clark, the photographer, went to Sutherlin Sunday where he photographed in one group 132 men now engaged in planting apple tres there. The big gang plow, operated hy a gasoline traction engine, is kept buBy night and day turning the soil, besides- seven other plows drawn by horses. Another car of homeseekers is expected to arrive there on April 12th, accompanied by Col. Luse, who Is now In the east. Materials are now arriving for Col. Luse's $30,000 residence at Suther lin. Mr. Clark goes to Ashland in a few days to do some special pho tographic work with his big camera, and the following week he will go to Portland to take some special views of the city for the Commer cial Club there. He has the only camera In Oregon with which a pho tograph 16 feet long can be made and bis services are In demand.
