In Theo Dalles, Oregon, his uge being 111 yea i. 4 mouths and 1 day. Percy was tho second sou of his parents, and from his birth was a delicate child. He was uld beyond bis years, and cared very little for the things which Interest the average htld of his age. He was a great lover of all dumb brutes, and never allow ed others to iimirii! them If within his power to prevent It. Ho was a natural horseman, and during the residence of his family In this city, could he seen driving on the streets almost every day. Among the last words spoken by him were those to Ills elder brother. Harold, concerning the care and feeding of the family horse, to which lie was greatly attached. He had n kind consideration for all of God's creatures, and could not see them misused. For sometime prior to his death he was lu very poor health, and his family were very much concerned. U was hoped he might Improve with tho coming 'of spring, but ns tho days wore them selves away and there came no sign of improvement, the members of his family began to prepare themselves against the Inevitable, and lata on the night of March 1 (he end came He passed away without suffering and was laid to rest In the I. O. O. F cemetery amid most beautiful Moral coverings, with a large concourse of sympathizing and mourning friends stood hy. Percy was a good and dutiful boy and left a large circle of friends to mourn bis early departure, lie lived much during the 111 years of his earthly life. Two sons, Har old and Quentiu, yet remain to Mr, and Mrs. Davis. The remarks of the Congregational pastor at the funeral were verv appropriate and comfort ing. The family desire to thank all the friends who so kindly ministered to them In their affliction, and hope that all such may Ilnd the same spirit present, when they, too, shall pass this way. Mr. and Mrs. Davis are well and favorably known in Douglas county. Mr. Davis taught school for a num ber of years in and around Oakland and Kosehurg. Mrs. Davis Is a sister of Mrs. John Applegate and Mrs. J. T. Miller, of Yoticalla. and V. O. Bridges, of Oakland. Their many friends In Douglas county are deeply grieved to hear of their great loss. tnd one and all tender their heart felt svmpalhv to them In their deep sorrow.
