Whipple has sold her 20-acre fruit farm In Edenbower to J. L. Grimes, for $5000. She ex pects to move into this city or go to Myrtle Creek to reside. Hon. J. H. Booth went to Grants Pass on the early train this morning to look ufter some business In con nection with the estate of his brother, the late Hon. J. O. Booth. A very large audience enjoyed the production of "The Military Girl" at the Armory Wednesday evening, under the auspices of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Roseburg Commer cial Club and direction of Fred Carlyle. The parts were well ren dered nnd several encores were merited. The proceds go into the Rose plarUng fund of the Club. The play will be repeated Friday evening. Portland Journal: Sallle Drennen filed a divorce suit against Walter Drennen yesterday. He attacked her with a butcher knife while in a drunken frenzy, she says, threatened to kill her, and broke up the fur niture. She married him in Van couver. Wash., October 17, 1887. (The Drennen's are well known for mer residents of Hoseburg. Drennen was for years a Southern Pacific en gineer until a wreck Incapacitated him physically from that kind of work.
