Murray, of Seattle, Is here to take charge of the Douglns county system of the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Co. on September 1st, suc ceeding A. T. Marshall, who recently purchased the Denning & Kent cigar store In -this city. Art Carter, a brakemnn on ibe Southern Pacific running out of this city, and well known here for bavins held down first base for the halt team until this season, has passed the ex amination for a conductor. He is not violent, however, and with a few weeks of proper treatment he will be his former self. Ashland Record : Rev. F. D. Strange, D.
