Work on the new bridge over
Deer Creek, in this city, begins next
Monday morning. This 1b the state
ment made today by City Engineer
Martong. Contractor Perham and his
crew will arrive from Marshfleld to
night. The foreman of the gang is
already in the city. Mr. Hartong is
not prepared to say positively wheth
er the present bridge will support the
heavy wagons used by Ringling
Brothers in their parade, but he is
of the opinion that the parade outfit
can cross in safety if the northern
approach is strengthened. 'He will
make a definite statement in the mat
ter after an examination of the
bridge early next week.

MARSH FIELD, Aug. 20. The
Cody lumber mill at Baudon burned
this morning, with $100,000 loss and
Insurance of $75,000. The origin of
the fire Is unknown.
The mill had a capacity of 100,
000 feet a day, and was the largest
manufacturing Institution in Baudon,
