Rowley, owner of the Rowley copper mine, on the Umpqua divide, near the headwa ters of Trail creek, while in Medford Thursday said: "We are resuming work on the mine. We have a 110 foot ledge, and a pay-streak ten feet in width. The ore is low grade cop per, with gold and silver values." Mr. Rowley has a unique way of making trails through the mountain brush. He rides over the proposed route on horseback, spilling salt behind him as he goes. The cattle which range over the hills follow the salt, beat ing a regular path in the wilderness.
