Kate Fullcrtou. a Roseburg student at the Univer sity, made the hit of the Senior play last week as Miss Wiggins, in the cast of the "College Widow." Her make up, her actions, and expression lilted exactly into the part she had to sus tain. When she sauntered out in the first act with her hair piled lit erally one foot high, a hat of the gaudiest colors, and a dress equal to any sample of stunning togs ever dis played, the house of fifteen hundred people roared, and at last applauded. Thos. R. Townsend took the part of the dean of the Eastern Presbyter ian college and received very favor able mention. Robnett was con victed of subornation of perjury by the district court of Idaho, Judge Ross, of the United States circuit court of appealB. hold today that Rob nett had committed no offense against the government and, reversing judg ment, directed the lower court to dis miss the Indictment. The charge against Robnett was that he had suborned George R. Rob- n son to swear falsely to an affidavit at Lewiston, Idaho, to the effect that ho had examined personally eotr.o and which he wished to purchase under the timber act. Judge Ross held that a personal examination of tho land was not nec essary under a ruling of the Supreme court, hence the Indictment charged no crime against the plaintiff In error. Edmund Langenberg, a native Roseburg boy and well remembered here, waa married this month at North Bend, Coos county, to MIbb Marlon Imhoff. They are now resid ing nt Prosper, near Bandon, where Mr. Lnngenborg is employed In a sawmill. Portland Jour nail: "Nora Hamil ton," one of the llamea of Adjutant General Ortls Hamilton, is well known In Arleta, the little suburb out towards Mount Scott whore she went after having been driven from the Imperial hotel to open an establish ment and make her homo. The story told by the Arleta resi dents Is to the effect that Mrs. Nora Hamilton came to Arleta about IS months ago and opened a restaurant. She staid In the town for a month, during which time she bought a house and furnished U sumptuously, on credit. She was visited repeatedly by Ortls Hamilton, Introduced by her as her husband. Hamilton was rec ognized while In the town, however, by a fofmor acquaintance in Colfax and never paid another visit to the place. She also received a number of telegrams from Hamilton. During her residence in Arleta the woman dressed in the height of fash Ion and spent money lavishly. She always carried betweon $r00 and $700 on her pea-son, and was In the habit of taking residents of Arletu on wild trips to the various road- houses, generally paying the bills for refreshments and automobiles her self. This practice led to much do mestic trouble In the little town, and Mrs. Nora Hamilton was one of the most hated women ever In the town, ltccelvcd Money From Hamilton. Money came to the woman fre quently by check and money order, Invariably signed by Ortls Hamilton, She wore many and expensive dia- moiids, and was a lavish Bpender and a hard drinker, according to tf e stor ies told by the Arleta people. A mar ried sister resides near Arleta with her husband, but slie refused to have anything to do with MrB. Hamilton after she found out what kind of a life she was leading. During this time a younger sister of Mrs. Hamll ton came from eastern Oregon. She was a very beautiful young girl and received much attention. She was persuaded, however, by the brother In-law to leave Mrs. Hamilton's home and go to tho other sister. After tho departure of Mrs. Ham Ilton from Arletn the slBter received n tolegram from Vancouver, B. C, tel ling of the death of tho woman at that place. It waa believed at the time that the -telegram was a fake, and that the woman took that menus of throwing hor many creditors off the track, os she was being pursued at that time by many men In Portland who had sold hor various articles of merchandise for which they had never received payment.
