Portland Journal: Orders for 65,000 pieces of advertising matter concerning Oregon have been plnced with Portland printing houses this week. These Included 600,000 In serts ordered by the Portland Com mercial club which will be distribut ed to the business houses in all the arger places In the state and will be placed in all mall sent out of Ore gon. The remaining 165,000 pleceB consist of folders for the Harrlman lines, descriptive of the opportunities awaiting the settler in Oregon. Charged with murder In the first de- ree, 15 men, farmers of Scott coun- were placed on trial today at aldron, Ark. The defendants are cused of membership In a mob hieh three months ago called out John Bailey and lynched him. The murdered mnn had been warn- ed to leave the country because of his refusal to hold his crop for higher prices.
