the local brethren for weeks and was
looked forward to with hopeful and
pleasant anticipation.
The speclnl Reception Committee
of five, bended by "Uncle" George
Oldham, and nobly assisted by Elkan
Gosllner, who so earnestly contrib
uted to the exercises or the evening
did themselves proud. The beauti
ful decoration of tho hall won the
admiration nnd favorable comment of
all who snw them.
The visiting brethren arrived bv
singe from Dram and established
headquarters at the bachelor domi
cile of Mr. CIinB. Weatherly, where
the rainy afternoon was whlled awny
by games, cigars, nuts, fruits nnd the
glad-hnnd of fraternal greeting.

At this time supper was announced.
Lodge was called off fur a brief time
and all repaired to the dinirfg hall,
where ample Justice was done while
the merry laugh and badinage echoed
around the feBtlve board. Some were
loath to leave a good thing, hut fin
ally yfelded and returned to the hall,
where lodge was again convened.
Several of the brethren, especially
the visiting brethren, entertained by
very appropriate, instructive and elo
quent addresses.
Lodge was Anally duly closed,
while every one of the local brethren
was gratified and highly elated over
the beautiful and Impressive manner
In which the esoteric work of Free
Masonry was done by the Roseburg
brethren, for which a vote of thanks
was tendered most heartily and
unanimously. ThlB last also applies
to two former visits of the Roseburg
Masons in the past eighteen months.
