NEW BOARDING HOUSE.
Mrs.' L. B. Kingman, recently
from Seattle, and a lady of much ex
perience will, on Nov. 1st, open a
strictly first class boarding house on
the corner of Mill and Floed streets.
The house Is new and modern and
will bo newly furnished. Electric
lights, bath and phone. No small
children taken. A nice home-like
boarding house for a limited number
of boarders who appreciate first class
cooking and service. The house will
be furnished and ready for reserva-

While out riding In a single-horse
livery rig in this city Friday eve
ning, Mrs. Warrington, a guest at
the Hotel McClallen. met with an
accident, which, fortunately, had no
serious results. At the Intersection
of Cass and Jackson HirmMH, one of
the wheels of the buggy was caught
!y a passing gravel wagon, going
in the opposite direction. The horne
attached to the buggy became frigh
tened and plunged so forcibly Hint
h broke loose from the vehicle, at
the same time throwing Mrs. War
rington Into the street. As luck
would have it, however, Mrs. War
rington sustained no Injuries be
yond a shaking up and a few Incon

the famous old buttlelleld of Ti pe
nnon, where on November 7, 181 1,
General William Henry Harlrson and
his little baud of pioneers vanished
the Indians under the Prophet and
thus gained nu empire for the whites,
hnndsome monument was dedica
ted today. Today is- the ninety-
seventh anniversary of the historic
conflict In which General Harrison
broke the power of Tecumseh's con
federacy and gained that military
renown which later led him to the
White House. Thousands of peo
ple gathered on the battleground and
the dedicatory ceremonies were of
an Imposing nature.
Addresses were delivered In the
morning by Congressman E. D.
Crumpacker and other well known
men. The formal dedication took
place this afternoon. Job C. Sims,
chairman-of the dedication commit
tee, presented the monument to the
state and nation.. Governor Hnnley
accepted in behalf of the state, and
General Luke Wright, secretary of
war, represented the National Gov
ernment. Music was furnished by
bands and a trained chorus. The
bnttleflled was cluborately decorated
with nags. The monument was too
large to veil nnd unveil, and only the
statue of General Harrison In front
was unveiled nt the ceremonies.
An attachment suit to recover
$120, alleged to be duo on a loan,
has been filed in the clcult court here
by Jeff Williams against Dwlght
Fee. The levy made is upon lands
in sec. 14, 20-7.
