EVENING ROSEBURG REVIEW
OCTOIIEH 20, 1008.
WILD TUKKKYH IS OUKliON.
Albany Herald: Oswald West,
state railroad commissioner, passed
through the city yesterday bound tor
Sulem from his farm near Corvallis
in llenton county. He carried with
him eight wild turkeys which he had
killed on his place. Wild turkeys
are compartlvely scare in Oregon and
Mr. West was quite proud of his suc
cess. He says that there are a num
ber of these birds in the neighbor
hood of hiB farm. Someone sug
gested that the birds were tame tur
keys and that West was rushing the
Thanksgiving season. He, however,
denied the assertion saying he knew
the difference between the two.

Weston Leader: Tom Moffat paid
a round $1000 Into the circuit court
$700 for himself and ' $300 for
his two bartenders for Belling 75
cents worth of booze In violation of
the prohibition law. They were in
dicted on a number of counts and
plead guilty, lien Morton fought the
case against him and has just been
convicted. Of a verity, the buzz saw
buzzeth.
