of the Methodist Episcopal church,
which begins Us sixty-ninth annual
session today with Bishop T. B.

Prominent Methodists here declare
that the conference will attempt to
make the church denunciation of
Cannon a national Isnie. The com
mittee on temperance and prohibi
tion, it is stated, is in charge of the
anti-Cannon resolutions. The Rock
River conference is composed of 350
ministerial memberB, representing a
lay membership of 02,000. At Re
publican headquarters the Methodist
attack on Cnnnon Is not considered
seriously and It is stated that the
sage of Danville is "well able to take
care of himself."
