This Is done (o prevent curl h from heuping up In front of the bruce. A light plutform la needed to innku the use or the ditcher ife. The dltrh la in tide as shown In the Illustration of tho plan, the short side of the chain being about two feet three Inches In length and the long side eight feet three Inches.' The dm In Is made to pass over the mold hoard, so (hut It tnny clear Itself more readily. Two or three horses, according to the dltllculty of the particular condition, are neces sary to clear n ditch. To secure the bent service fr.mi the ditcher a weight or about 'J(M) pounds ihoiild be placed over the front end. The essfiitfal thing to be gullied Is to :mve the ditcher maintain it smooth, veil surface on (he bottom of the Iftch. There Is then no obstruction to the flow of water. This requires that toft, muddy holes Is passed over light ly and hard, high places be reduced. This result Is obtained If the driver drifts his weight forward or backward is n high point or a uiudholo Is np lirnachcd. If the driver shifts his weight forward the point of the ditch r Is driven Into the ground. If he itioves back the pressure on the for ward end Is relieved, and the pull on (he chain tends to raise It. Ilexirics clearing the ditch, the ditch er assists in preserving the slope from the side of the road to the bottom of the ditch. This keeps the road safe from possible accident to t rat lie from ditches with too abrupt slopes. Hefrlgeratoni. Pull line of first class refrigerat ors, cuumel II nod and guaranteed satisfactory.
