The employes at the box factory
held a meeting last week and formed
a sick and accident association for
their own protection. The plan ls
that each employe shall pay Jl V"
week into the treasury until the sum

drawn upon in case of accident or
sickness of any of the men to pay
their doctor and drug bills. As soon

sessment ceases until the treasury is
drawn upon, then the assessment
starts again, continuing until the
sum is intact. This gives employes
tine protection and the plan has been
tried in other large plants and is ex
tremely popular in all cases.

Peter Birmingham, aged S2 years,
died at the home of K. M. Duncan,

The deceased leaves no known liv
ing relatives and little is known of

years he has made his home with
