a visitor in Iioseburg yesterday, lie
reported business much improved In

box factory at C.lenditle Is now run
ning to almost its full capacity and
will be running with a full force
within a couple nf weeks. The main
building of the factory is 40x120
feet, ami a drying and storage shed
forty feet wide will be built Imme
diately the full length along one side
of the main building. Kvery saw
mill in the vicinity of (Mendale is
now running full capacity. Septem
ber 1st. and each mouth thereafter,

among the workmen as wages for the

Suark, one of the fastest running
horses ever brought to Oregon, is
dead in this city, at the age of 10
years. A kick from a fractious rac
ing mare in Dick Turpln's barn on
Monday night broke the upper bone
of his right hind leg and he had f.o
be shot. Snark was brought to this
Ity from Grunts Pass Monday with
the mare that kicked him and hlch
is owned by Al. Teal, of that city.

Marshtield next week. Smirk was
owned by Jacob Fry, of Grants
