NEW YOKK, Aug. 11. Charged
with engaging In mad orgies, In
which it Is alleged that they wore
too little clothing, the members of a
"devil chasing" sect in Brooklyn will
appear in court tomorrow. The de
fendants, who ure alleged to have
performed their indecent rites under
tlio guiue of religion, HtremiotiKly as
sert their lnnocensu of any wrong
doing. It was a ceremony known among
the sect, according to police Informa
tion, as "drawing the dragon," or
"chasing the devil," that caused four
of the prisoners to be held In $."()()
ball. They were Mrs. Elizabeth Hob
luson, MIsb Isabell Darke, II. P
Dunham and Daniel Wecker, all ol
whom were churged with "outraging
public decency."
Because the police alleged she Is
the acting head of the sect, or
church, Mrs. Robinson was also held
on a charge of "keeping and main
taining a place for Indecent pur
poses." She was arraigned on the
separate charge.
Mrs. Robinson denied, excitedly,
that women disrobed In order to
carry out their religious exercises
