The akin is not simply an outer covering of the Wiv, Imt through its
thousuiiud of uics and glands it performs U.e c.ieat and necessary work of
regulating our temperatures, anil also assists in disposing of the refuse and
waste matters of the system by the constant evaporation that goes on
through these little tubes. To perform these duties the tissues and fibres
which connect and surround the pores and glands must be continually nour
ished by pure blood. When from any cause the circulation becomes infected
with impurities and humors, it loses its strengthening powers and begins to
disease and irritate the delicate tissues, ami produces Kraema, Acne. Tetter
or some other itching, disfiguring skin trouble. S. S. S. cures skin diseases
of every kind by going down into the circulation and neutralizing ami remov
ing the impurities and humors. It changes the quality of the blood from an
acrid, fiery fluid to a cooling, health-producing stream, which, instead ol
irritating and inflaming the skin, cures and nourishes it by its soothing
healthful qualities. Salves, washes, lotions, etc., may be used for anv tem
porary comfort or cleanliness they afford, but skin diseases cannot be' cured
until S. S. S. has purified the blood. Hook on Skin Diseases and any med

School Boundary Matter.
In adjourned session today, couutv
court decided that as a school bound
ary board It had powers to act. The
question was raised by B. J. Haw
land, the Myrtle .Creek lawyer and
hanker, representing the remonstrat
ors to a petition tiled with the board
one week ago by Kdward Weaver and
others, asking for the establishment
of a new school district. Involving
the southern portion of the district
In which the town of Myrtle Creek ij
situated. Interpreting the law ex
actly as it read. -Mr. Howland a.-auel
that the board was entirely without
power to net because the law failed
to specify Its duties. Against this,
District Attorney Hrown, represent
ing the county, contended that
though the existing law contained no
such specifications, yet the board was
given necesary power by a previo.is
act. Tliis act, however, (lowland
maintains Is wholly annulled, an 1
he hits given notice that ho will peti
tion for a writ of review in the cir
cuit court.
The decision of the board that it
has power to act does not carry the
granting of Weaver's petition. Tills
matter Is now under consideration
and will probably be acted on tomor
row. Tho remonstrance against tho
petition Is bused on the allegations
ihnt if granted It would deprive the
Myrtle Creek-district of approximate
ly .one-third of Its taxable proper!,
which cannot be dispensed with at
the present time owing to the fact
that the town recently voted Jlli.o'JO
with which to construct a new school
house and to pay oft an indebtedness
of $:i,000.
