I understand that heretofore there
has not been much competition

making plans for a big crowd and
for mnny exhibits.
"Coos county has some fine dairy

Hit I the circuit court this uiorii
lug by Judye J. W. Hamilton. Tu
of tho cases were petitions Uir wills
of review from proceediliKS of the
county court of Douglas county and
the third involves the home of lieo.
W. llennett, a blind and decrepit old
soldier of this cily. One of the de
cisions sustains the county court
and another reverses it.
The victor over ihe county court
Is Vie Alliance Trust Co., a Scotch
concern, of which W'm. McMaster, of
Portland, Is agent. Upon petition of
A. E. Davison, a farmer, living C
miles northwest of Oakland, the
county court, on January 3, of this
year, established a road of public
easement through a tract of land
owned by the Alliance Trust Co.
From this action the trust company
appealed, alleging that Davison's pe
tition was defective, that it did not
confer tho jurisdiction assumed by
the county court and furthermore 11
(the company) had not been served
with a copy of the order Issued to
the hoard of viewers directing them
to locate the proposed road. In his
decision, Judge Hamilton holds that
"error was committed by the county
court as alleged" and sets aside the
order establishing the road. The
plaintiff is also awarded costs.
The other case against the county
court was instituted by 11. Wollen
berg, as admr. of the estate of S.
Marks & Co., and like the first arose
out of the establishment by the court
of a road of public easement. The
land Involved is what is known as
the J. vj. Chadwlck place, between
Canyonville and Myrtle Creek.
Plaintiff alleged various Irregulari
ties not only on part of the court,
but on part of the board of viewers,
as well, but Judge Hamilton holds
that no er-or vt ?omni;tt I and ac
cordingly dismisses Wollenborg's pe
tition, at the same time awarding
the county Its costs from the plain
tiff. In the third case decided, Judge
Hamilton confirms the sale of Geo.
V. Bennett's residence property In
order to satisfy a judgment for $000.
awarded to Mrs. Phoebe Ketchell for
boarding and lodging and for her
services as a nurse. The property Is
situated In C'hndwlrk's addition.
Atty. J. A. Huchnnnn, llennett's
guardian, stated today that the case
would probably be nppealed.
Best the World Affords.
"It gives me unbounded pleasure
to recommend Ilucklen's Arnica
Salve," says J. W. Jenkins, of Chapel
Hill, N. C. "I am convinced It's the

never fails to heal every sore, burn
