A peculiar feature brought out by
the peace conference at Portsmouth is
the fact that politicians and newspaper
representatives arc not furnishing the
bulk of the crowd that is in attendance

Li, 1105, Mrs. Martha Beckley, aged
51 yearB, of general debility.
Deceased was the divorced wife of
Jamea W. Beckley, formerly of Hose
burg, but now of Riddle. She was the
mother of W. Taylor Beckley, who
was accidentally killed in the Southern
Pacific yards here a few years ago.
Another son and two daughters have
also preceded her to the grave. Sur
viving her are a sister and a daughter,
Miss Hattle Beckley, who reside at
Oakland.
The funeral was held at Oakland
Monday.
