Logan Fisher, of Kellogg, plead guilty to the charge of shooting an elk on his premises near Kellogg re cently, upon arraignment before Jus tice Stephens at Oakland. The United States Civil Service Com mission will hold an examination on the dates and at tbe places within the State of Oregon, named below, to 'se cure eligibles from which to make cer tification to fill vacancies that may oc cur in the position of Forest Ranger in the Forest Service of the Department of Agriculture; Baker City, Oregon, July 24, 25 and 25, 1905; Prinovllle, Oregon, August 1, 2 and 3; Hood River, August 9, 10, 11; Detroit, August 10, 17, 18; Grants Pass, August 23, 24, 25; Lakeview, August, 31, September 1 and 2. The examination will consist of an swering practical questions In writing and in a Uelu examination to test tne ability to actually perform the duties of a forest ranger, In the field examination applicants, among other things, will be required to shoot at targot with rllle and pistol, and should bring with them these arms for the test. Tbe age limit will be from 21 to 40 yea on the date of the examination. This examination is open to all citi zens of the United States who comply with the requirements.
