MURDERERS ARRESTED.
Son Says His Father and Another Man

drew Ingram and Elsey Dodson are in
jail here, ebarged with the: never,
solved murder of William Dunlap, o(
Louse Creek, Josephine County, two
yearo ago this spring. Dunlap, a hermit
miner, was found dead in his cabin
under circumstances pointing to rob
bery as the motive for the deed; Dunlap
was supposed to have had money se
creted in his cabin.
Ingram and Dodson were appre
hended through the confession of the
formor's son, Lloyd Ingram, whbclaims
to have been with his father and Dod
son when they killed Dunlap, and that
he helped to search the premises for
treasure. Twelve dollars, he tells
Sheriff Lewis, was all they got in money,
apart from gold dust. The boy, who Is
aged 17, says h e was afraid his father
would kill him, and so confessed. -

Austin, Texas, April 29. The town
of Laredo was wiped out by a cyclone
last night. It is roported that 50 per
sons were killed, hut communications
are broken and details are unobtain
able. ,
A DISASTROUS WRECK
Greenville:, S. C, April 29. A spe
cial train of prominent New York peo
ple was wrecked near here this morn
ing. Among the injured are Robt. C.
Ogden, Prof. Porman, of Yale, and T.
C. Kelway, editor of the Brooklyn
Eagle.
W. W. Canning, the cook, was burned
to death. Out of the train of ten cars,
four were burned.'

died this morning, aged 60 years. .He
leaves to his wife and son an estate
valued at $15,000,000.

It is reported on good authority that
anew time schedule will go into effect
on the Southern Pauilio R. R. south of
, Portland on May fi, next, Tbe present
schedule went luto effect about three

to dock the Southern Pacific ferryooat,
'operating betweon Port Costa and Be-
necia, Calif., for repairs, necessitating
a revision of tbe tinjo card. Repairs

coming new schedule will affect the

change will occur In the time of the
northbound local train No. 12, which
now arrives here at, 11:27 a. m. As

tbe new schedule at ubout 9:30 a. m.

Mine-owners' Association:

edge pf our Association that Douglas
County desires to make an exhibit of
Bohemia ores at the Lewis & Clark
Exposition. At a special meeting held
yesterday at tbe Muslck mine I was In
s .ructed to inform you that tbls Asaoola-

ore in Poit'and for this purpose. Tbe

Ashland Tidings: Pursuant to a call
of tbe board of trade, all Ashland, oral,
least a large and onthusiastio portion
of it, turned out last night and crowded
the big Chatauqua tabornaole to the
doors, listened to music and shore
speeches and when the meeting ad
journed a cash fund of $1400 had been
pledged and assuranoe given that
enough more would be provided to
make a total of approximately $2000 to
be placed at the disposal of the board
for promotion and publicity work in
tbe interest of Ashland and vlolnlty
during the Fair season.
The meeting was productive also of
much good feeling and better under-
standing among citizens interested in
the city's welfare and In ,thla respeos
was doubtless as full of as valuable re
sults as In the dlreut object for which it,
was called, of enlisting flnanolal sup
port for tho board of trade In the work:
