Ashland Tidings, March 2: Miss Ghangrow, a native of Douglas county, died at the home of her half-sister, Mrs. Sarvent, in the Canyon, yesterday morning, at an early hour. Deceased, who was aflllcted with tuberculosis, came to Ashland in December to try a change of climate for her trouble, but without avail. The interment takes place this afternoon In Ashland cemetery. Geo, II. Bennett, of the Metho dist Episcopal church of Roseburg, leaves with his fumily about the 22nd of this month for Mondota, 111., he hav ing accepted a call to that place. The present pastor at Mendota, Rev. W. C. Reuter, will come to Rosoburg. He is expected to preach his initial sermon here on Sunday, April 2nd. Rev. Reuter is a graduate of the Illinois Wesleyan University, and also of the theological department of the North western University, of Evanston, 111. He is said to be an able preacher and lecturer. Rev. Bennett and his esti mable family havo resided hero for the past two years and a hall, and during that time gained a large number of friends who will regret to learn of their departure. Included in the proceedings of the couoty court In Roseburg this morning was no oiler of $500 reward for infor mation leading to the arrest and con viction of the person or persons, if any, who killed John II . Rogers in Rose burg on Jan. 10, 1D0S. Rodger a is the timber cruiser whose lifeless body was found In Filkingtou and Bristow's blacksmith shop. . Judge ThompBon stated that the reward is ottered on request of several citizens of Roseburg, whose names he did not care to divulge. He further said that the reward would probably be increased next week to $750 by the City Council of Roseburg.
