The people of Riddle were given a musical treat at Brown's Hall Friday evening Oct. 21, when Miss Helen Willis, the gifted musician, and her well trained class, entertained with a recital. Miss Willis has a class at Myrtle Creek as well as Kiddle and they kindly consented to contributo their ability to the pleasant aifair. Kiddie's band also offered their aid and the evening was spent listening to a variety of good music. After the recital the Riddle band entertained the audience with several selections, which were duly appreciat ed. The audience was quite large and one and all appreciated the musical treat. Miss Willis will continue to give lessons here until December, after which she will go to Portland to resume her studies under Miss Soute, a talented musician of that city, who is now in Germany studying music. T h sleeping cars on this line wore formerly Pullman cars, ojwrated by the Pullman Company, but for a dozen years past the railway company has owned and operated the sleeping car equipment. In building Its sleeping cars, a departure from the old stondard pattern of ears has been made to t do ex tent of amling alwut six inches to ti e width and height of the sleepers. This permits of wider and higher berths. Length has also been added to berths. so that comfort is found in them which is lacking in ordinary sleeping cars. These large cars are in service on practically all of the lilies of the St. Paul road, and are very popular with the traveling public.
