Van Houten that Chas. Anderson has leased his property at St. Johns, below Portland, i and that he and Mrs. Anderson are now ! enroute to Roseburg, travelling by private conveyance. Mr. and Mrs. John Burge came in from Winston this morning with Mrs. i Mary Oden, who leaves tomorrow for Gervais, Oregon, for an indefinite stay. i Four of the Burge children are 111 with typhoid fever but are all getting along I favorably. Dehaven, the young man whose left leg was so badly crushed by a car wheel at I lice Hill Wednesday afternoon, withstood the shock of am putation, performed by Doctors Houck and Hamilton, and this morning he was placed aboard the local train to be taken to the buspital in Portland. He was accompanied by Harry Stevens, who will attend him on his trip. The injured man also sustained a crushed left hand at the time of the accident. The physicians were obliged ta cut nearly all of It off, leaving only that part supporting the forefinger and the thumb. The fineer will perhaps be usoless, the tendons being crushed.
