Development League Will Meet in Grants Pass this Month, Poktlanu, Sept. 5. In order to ex tend the Influence of the Ore iron Development League still further throughout the state, there will be held at Grunts Pass, Friday, September 23, the Southern Oregon session of the League, und the arrangements for this event are now being made. Secretary Tom Itichardson, of the Oregon De- velopment League, is now in corre spondence with F. J. Blakelcy, of Roseburg, vice-president of the State League, with whom he is arranging for an extensive advertising of the South ern Oregon session. Vice-President Blakeley will begin at once sending out Invitations to ull the cities and towns of Southern Oregon asking them to send representatives to Grants Puss to attend the session. It is expected thut the Giants Puss gath ering will be the largest in the history of that section, for it will be made plain that thu movement is (or the benefit of Southern Oregon interests, and the representatives of those inter ests will be urged to bo on hund und help cheer the good work ulong. Frank King drove a bund of 100 head of cattle from this place to Drain this week to be shipped to Portland, West Heed, of Gardiner, drove 43 hoad of 4-year-old steers to Drain Sun day, to bo shipped to Portland. They were the finest I ever saw go through this place, averuging between 12 and 13 hundred pounds each. J. I.
