W. Parks had been named by the president as postmaster at Rosa burg, Oregon. (Mr. Parks Is the manager of the well-known grocery linn of C. W. Parks & Co., of this city, and his ap pointment to this position has been ox pouted for tho past two or three years. Thu recent shortage of Post master I'rater, reported exclusively in Tiik Kkvikw, is believed to have brought the matter to a focus. The Roseburg postomce is now In the second class, the salary being $2000 per year, with $!K)0 additional for an assistant post master and $."00 for a clerk. Any additional help must be paid by the postmaster. The National Business League is pushing its move ment to amend the Federal Constitution so as to lengthen the Presidential term of six years, and making the President ineligible for re-election.
