Mr. Schllerholtz Is at present located in Portland. Mrs, W. H. Jamteson pleasantly en tertained sixty-five of her lady frient's at her home In this city this afternoon. The reception rooms presented the ap pearance of a veritable floral conserva tory, being most handsomely decorated with ferns, 1111 lea of the valley, carna tions, roses, tulips and violets. Hearts and flinch were played, after which re freshments were served. Mrs. Jamie son was assisted by Mrs. S. A. Sanford and Mrs. J. D. Hamilton. S. H. Munson, one of the best known and highly respected residents of Eden bower, was committed to the slate In sane asylum by the county court yester day and last night was taken to Salem by Sheriff Parrott. Mr. Munson's form of insanity is said to consist of brain softening, due to an illness from which he partially recovered physically several months ago. His wife and two sons and daughter brought the com plaint, testifying that Mr. Munson had homicidal tendencies. Apparently be never exhibited such tendency outside of his own home. A very slight mental weakness was noticeable, but this did not In the least affect his almost per fectly rational manner, when he made his usual dally walks Into town. His commitment Is therefore the occasion of painful surprise and regret among his many friends.
