A knitting factory was established at Xia Grande six months afjo and has built up such a large business that it must double its capacity. That is the kind of change we like to hear about, says the Oregonian. It is much better to start a factory with a small plant and enlarge it as business requires than to begin on a large scale and end in bank mptcy because the business will not pay the interest on the investment debt. There is room in Oregon for email manufacturing plants of various kinds, and If started now upon a con servative basis they wilt grow to be large and valuable properties in a few ye&ra. Whlttaker has been em ployed to teach tho spring term of school in District No. 23, and will com mence the 2th. J. C. Crouch Is now sole proprietor of the Palaco saloon, having purchased tho Interest of J. W.
