While the play Is built exclusively on comedy lines, some of the situations being broadly humorous, ' still It oontains a neat little rebuke to those worthy, but narrow minded peo ple, who, knowing nothing whatever of the theatre or its methods, believe it i to be an institution of the Evil One, and all actresses and actors his allies. Southern Pacific trains are still tied up at Duusmuir, Calif., by the big slide at Cantara, a few miles north of there. The slide is 200 feet long and Is in a narrow gorge In the Sacramento Can yon. The river Is on one side and a sliding embankment on the other. The regular northbound overland, due here Monday night, and which was delayed by the washout near Merlin, arrived here Tuesday night at 10 o'clock. This morning a stub train was sent out from here on schedule time to take the place of the regular northbound local.
