Gentry, a prominent business man of Albany, was in town Saturday, Mr. and Mrs. Stewart, of Cottage Grove, are making a brief stay with their Yoncalla friends. Rev. W. S. Smith, of Oakland, was in the city the first of the week John Geider was a Roseburg visitor last Friday. Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Howe spent Sun day with their friends noar Rico Hill J. A. Davis, principal of the Yoncalla -school, was in Roseburg last Friday at tending to business matters. Fred Dobson, of Cottage Grove, is -Visiting with friends here at present. Mrs. James Ambrose spent the first of the woek with her Bister, Mrs. Col well, at Cottage Grove. Walter Wainsloy and several others were called to Roseburg during the -week to appear as witnesses before the grand jury. V. Ma-lone delivered a vory good lecture here last Tuesday to a large sorowd. Subject: Temperance. He is said to be the best temierance Bjxmker in the state at present. W. J. Kolleher was In Roseburg Fri day on business. He will soon have his large Bawmltl In ojwration. W. H. Sykes, of the same company, was with him. Mr. and Mrs. O. II. Col grove were In Roseburg the lattor part of the week attending to business mutters, A. K. Shlrla and Chas. McGee, who are employed at the Kolleher & Skelley sawmill, are spending a few days with home folks at Myrtle Creek. George Meinxor, who has been work ing for tho past two months near Santa Jloaa, Calif., is on our streets again. Mrs. R. H. Harbor and son, Eric, were visiting among their Roseburg friends Saturday. F. J. Raymood Is having the Yett house repaired and will soon use It for a hotol. He expects to make It the best hotol in town. Frank Wilson, formerly a resident of this placo, arrived hero Saturday from Cottage Grove to spend a few days with his sister, Mrs. Potter. Miss Kmlly Moln.er, after spending evoral days visiting with relatives hern, ro turned Saturday to Portland whore sho Is employed in the MoAllon & McDonnell store.
