Teachers Examinations Over.
The examination of teachers, which
vas held In this city Wednesday,
Thursday and,Frlday of this week,
had a very light attendance, accord
ing to Superintendent O. C. Brown,
who conducted, the examination. Mr.
Brown Btates 'that the lteht attend
ance ws due to Influenza, a number
of teachers, who were to take the
examinations being 111 with the dis
ease. Another reason for the light
attendance was the fact that an ex
aminaton was also held at Yoncalla.
The city council of Yoncalla passed' a
resolution, requesting that the exam
ination be postponed, owing to the
influenza situation. It was too late
to arrange for -this, at the time Supt.
brown received the request, but in
order to meet the emergency the su
perintendent caused' an examination
to be held nt Yoncalla for tho teach
ers of that section of the county, who
desired to write. Supervisor A. E.
Street conducted the examination.
